The last hour begin in the middle of action as the lead protagonist, Ballista, evades his pursuers over Roman rooftops and through the city. It appears he has just uncovered a conspiracy to kill the Emperor and now he must flee from a shadowy power to escape with the truth. The action is fast paced and dramatic and the author creates a brilliant image of Ancient Rome. I cannot wait to read more!
