The story throws you directly into the action with the main character in a fight scene right from the start. I enjoyed the fact taht details were thrown in around it rather than a lot of description all in one go. Lots of action, but enough of a storyline behind it to add a level of intrigue that made you want to keep reading it. I like the fact that it is set in Roman times, I hope this will mean that there will be a lot of interesting history and that the story has been well-researched.
