I chose to read this First Impression for two reasons. First of all, I was drawn in by the cover. I love the image of the city of Rome. Also, I read a book towards the end of last year that was set in Rome and dealt with the Empire, so I was intrigued to read another book about a similar place and time. The First Impression does make me want to read more, but it's quite different to what I was expecting already. I'd like to give it a go at some point and form a full picture of this story.
