I very much enjoyed this sci - fi / fantasy story. The plot was well developed, with a fast paced and dramatic story line. The characters were likeable and adventurous. Some of the characters had complex story lines.
I would pick up this genre again - I found the pace of the story excellent. I really enjoyed this book overall.
The story drew you in straight away with the action. My heart was racing at times for the characters! There were multiple themes running through the story - revenge, action, adventure and war. This book was a non stop action thriller ! Set in the centre of rome amid a supposed assassination of the Emperor. Our main character sets out to save himself and the Emperor from a horrible fate.
