The Last Hour is based in Rome and follows the story of Ballista as he tries to save the Roman emperor from assassination whilst the City Warch are against him. The books opener is really well written in fact it is well written all the way through. The descriptive language used is great for painting a picture of Ancient Rome. The plot is fast paced and each chapter is packed with action. For anyone who is a fan of historic fiction this book would be a must read however this genre isn’t really something I tend to enjoy which is why I knocked it down to 4 stars. I really liked the cover though and as I previously stated if you’re a fan of that genre then I’m sure you will enjoy reading this book.
