I really enjoy reading books based on true stories from this Era. Particularly the stories of those that were oppressed by Hitler. As soon as I read the premise of this novel I knew that this was a must read for me. I can imagine that this will be an incredibly moving and empowering novel. I’ve recently been particularly enjoying reading tales of strong females during the war. I absolutely love the inclusion of photos within the story, it really adds a personal touch. I also enjoyed the focus the first chapter had on Hélène. The front cover is incredibly haunting and would definitely make me pick it up in store.
