I loved the book's dramatic opening scene, followed by an introduction to the real-life woman behind the story pieced together by the author. I imagine the book may be harrowing in places. It must have been even more so for the author given her personal connection to the events described. At the same time, I'm sure learning about the fortitude and courage displayed by the nine (and many others like them) will be inspiring. If it wasn't for the fact I have read a few other similar books recently, this would be finding a place on my wishlist.
