Stories like this are told so that we do not repeat history

I've read a lot about World War II, but I have never read anything about the French Resistance and especially of the women involved. Throughout the excerpt I had my hand to mouth, shocked and sad at the unbelievable cruelty that humans can exact on others. This is a book I need to read to expand my knowledge, but also to be part of the change in the world ensuring that in my own way that I am a voice and act against atrocities such as this.
