Although it probably shouldn't, it never fails to amaze me that there are still so many untold stories of the courage and resistance shown during WWII as brave men and women fought back against all the horrors of Nazi Germany. From reading the opening pages of Gwen Strauss's powerful story it's clear that she's giving a voice to nine very courageous women. The privations they faced for so many years, and the suffering they endured, must never be forgotten. I'm sure this will be harrowing to read their stories but I hope I'll be given the opportunity to do so ... unless we all continue to bear witness, there's always the possibility that such horrors will be repeated.
