This story tell the truth life events of how 9 women escaped the clutches of the Nazi's, whilst on a death march from their concentration camp.
This story was so emotional and at times harrowing, depicting some events that happened in the camps, which are just despicable. However, this book depicts the courage, strength and resilience found in the women at a time when it was so easy for them to just give up and at times had my heart in my mouth for them.
I liked the way the book was divided into chapters, each one showing the lives of one of the women and telling how they came to be in the camps, aswell as what happened to them after the war. The photos included show the women also and add a more personal touch whilst also depicting some scenes at the time.
This story lost me a little of the time due to the jumping around it seemed to tell relating to the narrative and the expansive historic description.
However, this was a beautiful read and is one that is worth reading.
