the true story of nine courageous women held in prisoner of war camps throughout WW2. It is a compelling and very well written story of resilience, friendship and survival. This book give a haunting account and provides further more evidence of the courage and resilience of ordinary women often untold. The story is powerful and shattering showing the horrors of the Holocaust through the eyes of these nine courageous women. These women were part of the Dutch and French resistance before being captured by the Nazi. Each were tortured and sent east into Greater Germany to a concentration camp at Leipzig. As the war turned against Hitler they were forced on a Death March facing starvation and certain death. During the death march they made a bid for freedom. It is a story of breathtaking tales of escape and resilience and most of all friendship. A must to read
