The first look did not prepare me for the story I was about to read. As part of the younger generation, reading this book really gave me a sense of history and showed me how important it is to understand what these women went through. You’re not taught about these women in history and what they went through. This book tells you each of there story’s and really gives you a sense of their personality. I was heartbreaking to read but very well written. As someone who is similar age to these women I cannot begin to imagine how they felt during this time, and this book helps to show just how strong they were. The unsung heroes of the war. Each chapter gives details of each of the nine women and tells the story from their perspective and how it came about they coming together. I would encourage anyone who’s into history and the war to purchase this book.
