This book was incredibly moving and inspiring. Non-fiction is not my go to genre, however I am so glad I read this book. I want to say how much I enjoyed it, however that almost feels slightly wrong.

The book is beautifully written and is incredibly well researched. I felt like I got a real insight into these women’s lives, and I am so glad that theirs stories are being shared.

There were a couple of spots in the book that I found it slightly hard to read, because of the suffering these nine women endured, however as I reasoned with myself that’s nothing compared to the women actually experiencing it.

The book switches between before the women were imprisoned and the escape to tell each of the women’s stories, and although that meant a lot of switching, it was easy to follow and helped to build anticipation for what was happening during the escape.
