Even from the cover this looks like a 'book by numbers' sort of thriller. The brooding black and white photo of a landscape style cover is everywhere at the moment so there's nothing new here to set this apart. And the blurb doesn't really do much to dispell that idea either....anti-hero with a secretive troubled past...mismatched counter character to create tension with her own problems, thrusting him into peril.....meh....it's all a bit 'here we go again'....can't find anything in this that truly excites me enough to want to read the whole thing when there are sooooo many other books doing exactly the same thing out there already.
