I always read about the author first and was excited to read this novel after I realised that he also writes as Tania Carver. I have read several of the Tania Carver books and thoroughly enjoyed them.
However this novel, whilst an enjoyable read, was not as interesting. I found the premise a little unbelievable, I don't doubt that group hysteria is a real thing and that people act differently when stressed and threatened. The end in my opinion did not justify the means. There was not any real indication that they would have even obtained their goal and I don't believe such an educated and intelligent group of people would have fallen for the trickery.
However, despite my misgivings, I did become engrossed in the story.
