I was a little confused by this one. From the cover I was expecting this to be a fantasy novel, or at least a 'pirate adventure' kind of thing. It doesn't say 'Historical Fiction' to me, and unfortunately I couldn't shake that impression when I was reading the opening chapter. I just kept expecting it to shift to something vaguely magical. I'm afraid this one won't be for me.
