My first reaction to this book would be to pick it up and read the blurb just because the cover is so stunning.
My impression of the content is that it has the potential to be a great read if it is executed properly.
The subject matter of the book is quite unique in the sense that the book does not follow the royal family of the time as many period novels tend to do.
I would definitely consider reading it.
