Most Beautiful
I think this is most well-suited for any lover of old English and England's grim Middle Age history. But there's a lot of exotic beauty in the book too, and Islam's global culture. As a Muslim, I was very much intrigued...
However, I mosr enjoyed the language in the extract and the adventure that is alluded to, at the end of the extract. With books like these, often it's a case of the plot being fantastic but the language being too modern. With this book, there was none of that, it all matches well.
I read the whole extract and I'm most curious about whether this book ends with Shelby's wedding or, his death! Exciting.
I was reminded of Andrew Taylor's books The Fire Court & The Ashes of London. I will be adding to My Goodreads!
