This looks to be the start of a unique historical fiction which balances history without overwhelming the reader. The setting is interesting, and one that I know very little about. I was instantly drawn in to the plot and the characters. For a third novel in a series, the author does a good job of allowing those who haven't read previous installments to jump in. Definitely one that I will keep a look out for.
