A good historical crime novel
The saracen’s mark is the first book I have read by author S. W. Perry. I found he has a wonderful style of writing of which I thoroughly enjoyed reading.
The story follows Nicholas, as he travels to Marrakesh and Bianca, as London struggles with pestilence - the Plague.
The style of writing is fantastically descriptive and helps your imagination bring the characters to life. A joy to read.
The story is historical but has elements of romance, brutality, crime and companionship.
The research and knowledge of the author is apparent - the historical details are accurate without being too detailed.
Books of the historical genre are not usually my go to, but I feel compelled to search out further reads by this author. Highly recommended.
