The third book in this series follows the familiar pattern to the previous two. The characters are entertaining and easy to like, despite their slight tendency to do stupid things. Nicholas and Bianca are both back to have a range of adventures while teaching you a little more about the history of Elizabethan England.

I enjoyed learning a little about the history of medicine in Morocco and the slave trade that existed so early in the 1500s, which I only had a limited knowledge of previously.

The plotline was easy to follow, it was relatively fast-paced without being too intense. There were the usual disasters and moments where they just so happen to be rescued at the right time by someone which is definitely a useful skill for main characters to have.
