This is the first book by SW Perry I've read, and I have to say ,I thoughly enjoyed it.
Set in London and Marrakech in 1593, poor Nicholas Shelby, just wants a peaceful life, he's a bit of a maverick doctor, in that he doesn't agree with "blood letting" ("it does the patient no good at all" his words) and a very reluctant spy ,he is also engaged to Bianca, landlady and owner of The Jackdaw Inn,
So when the Queen's spymaster Robert Cecil , asks for his help, he has little choice in the matter.
There is also the little matter of the plauge, returning once again to London, add to the mixture ,the disappearance of Farzad, who works at the Jackdaw and a murder, there is so much to keep the reader ,turning the pages into the early hours. I'm off to read the first two x
