Plot and Plague!

This is the third novel in S.W. Perry's series of Jackdaw Mysteries. Although it is not the usual kind of genre that I read, and it did take me a while to get into the swing of the book, once I had I really enjoyed the twists and turns of the historical murder mystery plot. The two main protagonists Nicholas Shelby and Bianca Merton were amiable and believable characters to whom I felt drawn. The book opens in late 16th Century Marrakech, but also has a grounding in Elizabethan London. The historical notes at the end of the book give an insight into the London plague of 1593 and other background information which helped to put the novel into context.
