Having read another of the books in the Nicholas Selby series I was looking forward to this novel. The author has a way of leading you through a story whilst interweaving actual facts from history, the story of people's lives of the time and on top of all that adding an air of mystery. It is 1593 and England is leading the way to becoming a leader of the world. One of the queen's informers and Nicholas must find out what is happening; As usual in these novels his friend Bianca Merton is on hand to help and whilst she is in London trying to avoid the plague that is ravaging the city she still manages to drop on important information to pass on to Nicholas to help him in his quest. You just know that there is something going to happen that you aren't expecting but I am not going to spoil it
