I'm sure this story has potential but it's not for me!

My first impression is that this is a well-written and well-researched novel about this fascinating period of history. However, I'm always a bit wary of sreading a book which is second in a series and fear that I'd be distracted from this story by wondering what had happened for the main characters in the first!
