When I first saw the cover, I thought "this might be for me..." and then as I read the blurb, I was certain this absolutely wasn't for me - and after reading the first impression I am pleasantly surprised.
Set in a time of pirates, spies, and possibly mobsters, The Scarlet Code seems to be a thrilling ride that is full of action.
However, though I enjoyed the writing style in the sneak peek and am intrigued as to where the story leads to, this is most certainly a sequel and not one that intrigues me enough to pick up the previous book and give it a go. Again, maybe it's really not for me.
