This is a great swashbuckling adventure. It is the second book in the Revolution Spy series although you don’t need to have read the first book to enjoy this one you will probably want to after reading this one. This is a really fast paced historical novel set at the beginning of the French Revolution and during a time of extreme poverty and slavery. This book really feels quite evocative of this time period especially the extreme differences between the aristocracy and the common people and of course the power and intrigue between England and France.
