I was gripped from the beginning. Set in 1789 in Paris, English spy Attica Morgan with the help of a pirate named Jemmy Avery is helping the rich elite, nobles escape France. They are escaping from the ramifications of the French Revolution. However, Attica and her pirate friend are focused on saving abolitionists who are trying to convince the King to abolish slavery.
I enjoyed the fact that the book was fast paced and the chapters are short and intriguing. In particular the inclusion of historical events and facts particularly the Scarlet Pimpernel. In amongst all this adventure is a killer. I will not reveal anymore of the plot.
I have not read the first book but now that I have finished The Scarlet Code I most definitely will.
