I was lucky enough to read the first of C S Quinn's novels in this series "The Bastille Spy" and discovered the kickass heroine Lady Attica Morgan. This girl has everything she is bisexual as well as being bi-racial the daughter of a slave and an English lord. Brought up in slavery but now accepted by English upper classes and she is a spy and a good one. I also enjoyed meeting the American pirate Jemmy Avery but my favourite is Atherton inventor and spy master who holds more than a fascination for Attica.

This book " The Scarlet Code" is the second in "The Revolution Spy" series and hopefully not the last it holds your attention from beginning beginning to end. The French Revolution is so well drawn with good attention to detail. The difference of being poor and having to survive not even having the basic necessities to sustain life and the aristos having to learn a new normal after years of luxury all this and a killer roaming the streets Attica has her work cut out with Jemmy at her side will she ever see England again. A great book very exciting couldn't put it down.
