I was pleasantly surprised by this book, I wasn’t sure I would like it but it hit the ground running and didn’t stop for breath. It would’ve been easy for the author to fill a few pages with a disbelieving husband but she didn’t and we were immediately plunged into one family’s utter despair as they learn that the unbelievable has happened.
As a parent it really made me wonder how I would cope and feel in the same situation and I felt the feelings of loss and hope jump from the pages.
The descriptions of caring for a disabled child were so well done they made me emotional and the different points of view were so well done that the story still flowed ever so well.
Overall this is one of those life affirming books that will have you question your own ethical views. Definitely an author to watch out for!
