The minute that I read the first impression, no, the minute I read the blurb, I knew that this book would be right up my street and boy, was I right. From the minute I started it, I was hooked, unable to put it down.
With a brilliantly compelling plot (and one big twist at the end that you just don't see coming), the story packs four different peoples point of view on a devastating situation into a fast paced book, with characters that you relate to and sympathise with, despite the outlandish circumstances they find themselves in.
It was honest, raw, and felt very real, so real that its hard to believe its based on fiction. I totally believed the characters I was reading about and become fully immersed. I highly recommend The Second Child and would be more than happy to read it again.
