I really enjoyed these first few chapters. You have Neil who seems to be down on his luck living rough with his dog even though it sounds like he was a teacher and had a family. Then you have ago who is a lawyer and is having ivf with her husband and trying for a baby that doesn't seem likely to happen and miteusi who works in a nursing home and has just lost a resident and passes Neil and his dog quite often. It would be really good to read about all these characters and see how they get to the cafe and what happens when they are hostages and how people got to where they are like Neil and his dog. The characters seem very likeable atm. I really enjoyed this book straight off. Not often that happens.
