The delivery of this book got delayed due to covid-19 but it was worth that wait!

Imagine going about your daily routine, popping into a cafe to grab a coffee on the way to work, or meet your grandson before school, then suddenly there’s a man with a shotgun!

The characters in this book are so diverse and believable. The most unlikely assortment of people who are all brought together by one crisis situation.

Then there is Eliza, the hostage negotiator who was due to be at her son’s play.

Surely an armed gunman is always then as guy? Surely the jolly cafe owner is always the good guy? This book looks at the reality, of how life is rarely so black and white, of how some people appear lovely but are in fact horrendous manipulators.

A gripping book that is heartbreaking on so many levels.
