This book has received rave reviews. After reading a sample of a few chapters I downloaded it on my kindle. Like most books on my kindle, it was there for ages until I decided to read it the other day. I’m now wondering why I waited so long to read it!

The book centres around four strangers who decide to go to a cafe one morning. One of these strangers has a gun, and holds the customers hostage.

Most of the book is set in the cafe, with the characters talking about their lives to give you insight into them. Everyone has their problems and histories but manage to open up to each other in a surreal situation.

The characters are extremely well drawn and you almost feel like you know them. They end up forming an unlikely friendship, despite the hostage situation.
I came to really like the shooter and was rooting for him to do the right thing. I felt so sorry for him, despite his actions in the cafe.

I found this book difficult to put down once I had picked it up. I got so involved with the characters and wanted to know how the story would go.

I thought the ending was very fitting and quite emotional.

Overall, I loved this book and I’m sad to have finished it. The characters really made the story and it was a great read.
I would highly recommend this book. I’m definitely planning to read more by this author. 😊
