I loved the first book in the series, The Angel’s Mark, which had all the ingredients I look for in a great historical crime mystery: a wealth of period of detail conjuring up the sights, sounds and smells of the time; a host of colourful characters to provide possible suspects; and a plot full of twists and turns to keep me guessing right to the end. The dramatic opening chapter suggests we're in for more of the same in the follow-up. Hooray from me, and for the fact that we get to meet Bianca and Nicholas again, hopefully teaming up to solve another mystery.
