It might be because it's not a time period I normally read in historical fiction or because it's the second book in the series, but I found this first chapter hard to read, understand and follow. I found myself reading and rereading sections to try and understand. Reading other's reviews and the synopsis, I feel like this book would be a fabulous read! Maybe I should invest in the first book!
