Not my normal style of book, but enjoyable nonetheless

I'm not always the biggest fan of historical fiction. It can be hard work to read and difficult to relate to. However, when it is done well, the characters are brought to life as are the times that they lived in and it can be great. S.W. Perry is quite good at doing this - similar to the Shardlake stories, although maybe not quite as good.
