This book gripped me right from the start! It’s face paced, the author brings out the characters quickly and develops an intriguing plot line. The story so far is beautifully written, if you’re not used to historical fiction it’s not an easy read due to the genre but being someone who’s not used to it the author has done a incredible job of capturing me right from the start. I love that it’s a story i’ve already immersed myself in and I love that I get to take my time to enjoy it.
The main character is incredibly intriguing, being through grief you build empathy for him straight away. What I love about him is his questing nature, questioning religion and science. This makes an interesting characteristic that I really can’t wait to see what situations that gets him into and see how the surrounding characters develop.
I cannot wait to get my hands on the rest of this book and read what’s next!! If you want to develop a new genre of reading material or love historical fiction, this will be a must read!
