This was a difficult book to read for me, especially considering it is the second in the Nicholas Shelby series and I have not read the first one. It did feel like you were missing characters back story by coming in in the second instalment which made it difficult to engage with and get stuck into. Also it is not my usual genre of book but I received it free from Readers First. Therefore, I did try to read it but became stuck after 150 pages. The Serpents Mark is one of the first books I have not finished in 2020.
Unfortunately this book is not for me but if you like religious, historical fictional novels then this is the series for you! But if you like the drama of religious heretics then purchase this book
