The prologue to the story cleverly set the back story for, I assume, the killer.
Once the main story began I felt a real liking for Jan as a character and wanted to learn more about his relationship with Laura. She too was painted as complex but likeable, not easy so early in the story.
The plot did definitely grab me and I was intrigued whilst disturbed - a genuine chilly feeling! I want to read on and feel scared to do so. Perfect.
