Wonderfully written first impression, allowing an insight into an area of history that we are not overly aware of here in the U.K. the author develops strong characters from the off, the executioner an ex-Christian who must prove his commitment to his new cause, the priest desperate to give hope to his citizens as he wrangles with unfair fees and persecution. This looks set to be an informative and exciting read.
