An unsettling but gripping novel based on real History about Christians that were persecuted and killed in Japan. It is very well written which makes it easy to read. All you need to do is keep up with a lot of characters. You can tell a lot of research was put into this book but the author balances the history very well.
I read through this book quickly in one sitting, and though it outlines the horrors of Christian slaughter, it shows the strength of the human spirit, and that there is always something to hope for. Highly recommended to those who love historical fiction.
