Historical and fantasy are two genres I don't get on with - they just don't attract me, so I knew just from the blurb this wasn't for me. I did read a small bit of the sampler but it didn't capture me in any way - that's not to say it's a bad book, I'm sure many will enjoy it who like those genres.
