I didn't think this would be my type of book but having read the First Impression, I think it is!
The Swords of Silence is the first book of a trilogy about persecution of Christians in 17th century Japan.
Although I enjoy historical novels, this book is classified as Sci Fi so I didn't think it would be to my taste. However the writing and descriptions are superb - as good as Con Igulden.
