This book is not for everyone, but I loved it!!!!
From the very first page to the last I was gripped and read every spare moment I had. This is definitely a book I could have read in one sitting if I had the time.
Swords and Silence is a story about the persecution of Christians in Japan, when the Shogun Imeitsu was fearful of foreign intervention from the Portuguese and the Dutch.
The writing style and characters were so well done. I don’t know much about Japan in the 1600 but while reading this book I can definitely tell Shaun Curry has done an exceptionally great amount of research, and has managed to share it through this story.
A fab read overall. I can’t wait to see what Shaun Curry has to offer the next. This is definitely a book I will be recommending to friends and family.
For those who are interested in reading this book please beware there is a lot of graphic descriptions of Christians being executed.
