This was an okay read for me overall. I don’t usually read historical fiction as I love history as t is but I did enjoy reading this. I found that I enjoyed it more as I didn’t know much about the history of Japan. It has made me want to learn more about it.
I felt some scenes could have been payed more attention but overall I felt it was a well researched book! The writing style wasn’t what I was used to but I did get into it and I loved a couple of the characters. This book has samurai, warlords and governors that want power and at times it does have some brutal imagery. I liked the theme of religion that flows through the book. Overall this is a good historical fiction book that I know people will love.
