thought that I would give this book a go as it is very........ very different from my usual read. Set in Japan in 1600 Father Joaquim who leads his fellow villagers to save their land, the story of itself is ok however parts of the novel are very brutal, some of the violence and tourtue made my imagination work hard, I couldnt quite decided if the book was so based on fact or fiction ??, I know that the book is part of a trilogy however I don't know if I was gripped enough to read more. Parts of the book I enjoyed others seamed to go on a bit. Would I recommend this book ? I am unsure however that I the joy of books. Each to their own.
