Recommended Read for those interested in Japanese History
This is not at all my usual read, and personally it didn't drive me as other books have; this is mainly because it's not my typical genre.
However, I think this book is a stark and fascinating story seeped in the Japanese Shogun regime; this is something I knew very little about, so I was interested in this and have even been googling it to find out more.
There're many contrasting and engaging characters and the chapters are short and have impact, some much more than others, as this book doesn't hold back on the horrors and some may find this quite brutal.
Overall an entertaining read and one that I'd recommend to people looking to develop their understanding of this time period through literature.
