Minette Walters writes exquisite prose and I am fascinated by the time period she has chosen for this new series. There is a real post-apocalyptic feeling to plague narratives that really appeals to me, especially given the isolation of the village. Add in what sounds like political intrigue and some explorations of class and you have what could be a wonderful book.
