Excellent book with a cover that captures the imagination.
After reading "The Angel's Mark" which I thought was brilliant and found hard to put down I just know I will love this book too.
It is about Dorset where I live so I am so familiar with the places like Dorchester. The story uses many villages and other towns I visit often so it seems like home a long time ago...its fascinating to read about how we used to live.
One sentence I picked out... 'How far is it from your camp?’
‘Three thousand paces . . . maybe four'. no miles or yards here, so the author must have done a great deal of research to find the facts of this time period so that the story comes alive to its readers with the happenings and the history of how life was conducted then.
